A doggy day care center in Greenpoint is offering a special package this football season that lets owners drop off their dogs when they head out to watch the game.
Canine-owning football fans need not worry about how they'll watch their precious games out-of-the-house anymore! The Daily News reports that a doggy day care center in Greenpoint has a special package this football season, allowing owners to drop off their dogs so they can watch the games gult-free. Rob Maher, the 31-year-old co-owner of Unleash Brooklyn, told the paper, "People may want to go out to a bar, but they feel like they're neglecting [their dogs]. They're happy to drop them off with us so they can play with other dogs."
For the pet elite, however, an indoor workout can be just as satisfying thanks to luxury retailer Hammacher Schlemmer, which offers PetZen’s canine treadmill in two sizes: small (9.99) and large (9.99) (Hammacher.com).
The ju$tification: “It could save you the cost of a destroyed couch,” explains dog trainer Denise Herman of Brooklyn’s Empire of the Dog. “If your dog has proper outlets for his stimulation, then he won’t treat your home as a chew toy.”

IF they can't bring pets along with them, traveling animal lovers go to unusual lengths to avoid kennels and ensure their best friends will be comfortable during their absence.
